Samsung is preparing to launch its next line of flagship phones next year. The lineup will undergo a change in naming conventions; instead of the typical standard, plus, and ultra models, it will feature pro, edge, and ultra models, specifically the S26 Pro, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra.

Over the past few months, specifications for all models in this lineup have been leaked, and a recent leak has provided a dummy model of the series, showcasing its design. Now, CAD renders of the S26 Edge have emerged, revealing the phone’s design in detail.

These renders, provided by Androidheadlines in collaboration with Onleaks, showcase the phone’s sleek and modern appearance. The front display features skinny bezels with a small punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera.

On the back, significant changes have been made to the camera module, which looks quite different from its predecessor, the S25 Edge. The new design features a wide camera island that stretches from the left to the right side, housing two camera sensors along with a flash for nighttime photography.

One of the rear cameras is rumored to be a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, an upgrade from the 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor found in the S25 Edge. This would also be an improvement over the S25 Plus that it replaces, which also features a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The specs for the second camera are still unknown, but it is expected to retain the 200-megapixel main camera found in the previous model.

Examining the right side of the phone, you can see the volume and power buttons. Reports indicate that the S26 Edge will have a flat frame with slightly curved edges and corners for an improved in-hand feel.

On the bottom of the device, there is a USB-C port along with a speaker hole. There is also a speaker hole on the top, suggesting the inclusion of a stereo sound system, which has become standard for the S series.

The phone is rendered in white, hinting that this will be one of the available color options. The S25 Edge is recognized for its slim profile, a feature that continues with the S26 Edge, which is said to be thinner at 5.5 mm, a reduction of 0.3 mm from its predecessor, which measures 5.8 mm. The camera island, however, is thicker, bringing the overall thickness to 10.8 mm. The overall dimensions of the phone are 158.4 x 75.7 x 5.5 mm.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge is also expected to support proper Qi2 wireless charging, featuring built-in magnets for the system. This is an improvement over its predecessor, which was only Qi2 ready, necessitating the use of a compatible case to utilize the feature.

Looking at this leaked design, the S26 Edge bears some resemblance to the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro renders we have seen. While it doesn’t look exactly like it, there are enough similarities for people to recall the iPhone 17 Pro when they see it.

Could Samsung be intentionally designing the S26 Edge to draw attention in light of historically low sales of the Plus model it is replacing? The South Korean company may be aiming to attract more eyes to this device.

Additionally, rumors suggest that Apple will soon unveil the iPhone 17 Air, which is also expected to have a slim profile. According to leaks, it boasts the same 5.5 mm thickness as the S26 Edge, indicating that it could serve as a rival to Samsung’s edge device.
