Samsung recently unveiled the Z Fold 7, which boasts a slimmer, larger, and sleeker design compared to its predecessor, the Z Fold 6. While the Fold 7 has received positive feedback, many potential buyers are hesitating due to one notable omission: it doesn’t come with the S Pen.
This has created a dilemma for Z Fold 6 users looking to upgrade. Samsung believes that only a small percentage of users utilize the S Pen, which led to its exclusion; however, this assumption has been challenged by numerous fans of the stylus. Many are criticizing Samsung for this decision, with some even labeling the Fold 7 as “useless” for not including the S Pen. Users are expressing their disappointment and are hopeful that the upcoming Z Fold 8 will feature it.
Despite the backlash, it seems Samsung is proceeding with the Z Fold 8 without S Pen support. Current rumors surrounding the device indicate no changes in this regard. A leaker on X recently revealed that the Z Fold 8 is expected to come with a larger 5000mAh battery and an expanded inner display that offers a better aspect ratio than the previous model. Additionally, there will be improvements in camera quality. However, these details are not what many fans are eager to hear.
The same leaker also shared information about the upcoming S26 Edge, which will reportedly include a 4500mAh battery with 45W charging capabilities and skinny bezels. While these features represent a positive progression, they fail to address the primary demand: the return of the S Pen for the Z Fold 8 and enhanced battery life for the S26 Edge.
As we await the launch of these devices, it remains to be seen how the addition of an extra 600mAh will impact the Fold 8 and S26 Edge battery life, and whether Samsung will reconsider the inclusion of the S Pen in the Fold 8.
